The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) is seeking a qualified Quality Assurance Analyst III to support the delivery of high-quality technology solutions across the organization. This role is responsible for planning and executing quality assurance activities throughout the software development life cycle to ensure systems meet functional requirements, quality standards and ABC/IT policies. The Quality Assurance Analyst III works closely with project managers, developers and business partners to validate system functionality, identify and track defects, and support continuous improvement of QA processes. On larger, authority-wide initiatives, this position may serve as a QA lead, coordinating testing efforts and supporting timely delivery of project outcomes. This role is ideal for an experienced QA professional with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a commitment to quality in a collaborative, enterprise environment. Areas of Responsibility: Manage test planning activities and facilitate test sessions and reviews Develop, execute and maintain manual and automated test cases and scripts Capture, document and track defects throughout the development life cycle Validate testing activities in pre-production and production environments Support quality assurance project planning, product development and process audits Creates and is responsible for the development and maintenance of test strategy/plans on projects of all sizes and complexities with minimal guidance. Ensure effective use of JIRA and project functions in accordance with user requirements and ABC/IT standards Serve as QA lead on medium-to-large projects by defining, coordinating and tracking QA activities Coordinate QA deliverables and handoffs with project and technical team leads Mentor and coach junior and mid-level QA team members Partner with project managers to identify and remove impediments to QA activities Perform front-end and back-end validation, including database and SQL-based testing Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience At least 4 years of software quality assurance experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience using JIRA, Zephyr and SharePoint Certification in Quality Assurance or Software Testing (e.g., CTFL), preferred Experience working with multiple software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) We Offer: Excellent work/life balance Paid Time Off (PTO) earned biweekly, plus 14 paid holidays Affordable healthcare with employer contributions Virginia Retirement System (VRS) benefits College Tuition Reimbursement program Virginia ABC employees are covered under the Commonwealth's benefits package and VRS.
