This is a key commercial and technical role, supporting customers with product selection, pricing, and technical advice while driving profitable sales growth.Working closely with external sales, production, and technical teams, you will act as a technical point of contact for customers, ensuring accurate quotations, timely order processing, and a high level of service throughout the sales cycle.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical sales support to customers across carbon, alloy, and specialist steel productsPrepare accurate quotations, costings, and tenders based on customer requirementsHandle inbound enquiries and proactively follow up on quotations to convert to ordersManage and develop existing customer accounts while identifying upselling opportunitiesLiaise with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure delivery requirements are metMaintain accurate CRM and sales recordsSupport external sales engineers with technical and commercial informationCandidate RequirementsMinimum 2 years' experience in technical sales within the steel industryStrong understanding of steel grades, specifications, and manufacturing or processing methodsExperience working in an internal sales, sales engineering, or technical sales environmentConfident communicator with the ability to translate technical information into commercial solutionsStrong numerical, organisational, and problem-solving skillsComfortable working with ERP/CRM systems and Microsoft OfficeWhat's on OfferCompetitive base salary of £31,000 - £33,000OTE of £41,000 - £44,000 through commission and bonus structureStable, long-term opportunity with a reputable steel businessSupportive team environment with opportunities for progression into senior or external sales rolesWR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
