Position Scope
Work within the Learning & Development team to provide a suite of internal and external training of the CMiC product and modules. The role of Instructional Design Manager will be to coordinate and manage instructional design and media staff (both internal and third party) to scope, develop, and deliver training materials and courses. This also involves some aspects of an Instructional Designer, E-Learning Developer, and Graphic Designer. Individuals applying for this position must have a professional demeanor, experience in both education and content development, and the ability to adapt to growing and changing content.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute revolving project plans, keeping tasks on schedule and completing projects on-time and under-budget.
- Liaise with third-party vendors and staff to ensure clear communication and timely delivery of materials and content.
- Ensure projects are completed successfully each phase, using sound practices, and following established design standards.
- Provide updates and consistently keep Director of L&D up-to-date with project status and issues that require intervention or escalation.
- Provide guidance and direction to junior L&D design & development staff.
- Design course content from raw source material. This can include learning strategies, objectives, blueprints/storyboard, scripts, course content, assessments, and experiential learning activities.
- Develop and provide training materials (worksheets, guides, quizzes, etc.), learning curriculum, modules, programs, and activities as outlined in the design documentation.
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, gamification, etc.)
- Design and advise on project plans aligned with staff requirements.
- Create E-learning courses containing a variety of training materials.
Requirements
- Knowledge of education and adult learning is a must.
- Experience working with vendors is an asset.
- Experience working in Articulate 360, both Storyline and Rise.
- Experience with graphic design work is a must
- Strong knowledge and experience with CMiC is an asset.
- Experience with Docebo or similar Learning Management System is an asset.
- Experience creating SCORM files or other e-learning content is a must.
- Link to portfolio or any relevant work samples is a must
- Ability to create a lesson plan, visualize the execution, and the lessons' role in a greater curriculum.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong leadership, delegation, and resource-planning skills with the ability to balance hands-on contribution and team oversight.
- Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
- Keen eye for design as well as detail.
- Exceptional team (and self-testing) quality assurance, processes, and execution.
- Strong and effective inter-personal and communication skills to work within the team.
- Ability to identify opportunities and present solutions in a timely manner.
- Aptitude to learn new technology, products, and concepts.
