Desktop Support Technician
The Desktop Support Technician provides technical support for end users across a variety of computing environments. This role supports both Windows and Mac systems, resolves hardware, software, and network issues, and ensures reliable operation of technology. The position requires strong customer service skills, the ability to work independently, and the flexibility to support a wide range of technical needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide on-site and remote technical support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and basic network issues across multiple operating systems. Deploy, configure, and deliver new or upgraded workstations and related equipment. Maintain accurate inventory documentation for devices and peripherals. Support audio-visual systems, projection equipment, and instructional hardware. Install new technology and assist with upgrades as needed. Communicate, track, and report technology outages or service disruptions. Lead or assist with complex technical projects and help desk initiatives. Serve as an escalation point for technical issues when required. Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision. May be required to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, based on operational needs. Required Experience: At least two years of experience supporting desktop systems in a networked environment. Experience with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Familiarity with audio-visual equipment used in meeting rooms or event spaces. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with users at all levels. Ability to organize, document, and manage information systematically. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The position may require occasional after-hours support depending on operational needs. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
