The Sonography Program at MedQuest College is a program of excellence that is CAAHEP-accredited with a 7-year history of strong graduates employed across the Commonwealth of Kentucky and beyond. MedQuest College Sonography is searching for a talented individual to join the sonography team in a multi-faceted role as an echo instructor/echo concentration coordinator, occasional vascular instructor, and co-clinical coordinator to assist our full-time clinical coordinator. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of sonography experience in a clinical setting, and possess credentials in both echocardiography and vascular sonography. The primary role will be teaching echocardiography classes and maintaining and updating the curriculum as needed with industry changes. This role may occasionally require the candidate to teach a vascular class when needed. This candidate will also assist the primary clinical coordinator with site visits as needed.
Some of the duties and responsibilities of the position:

 Effectively translates subject matter expertise to engage and educate students

 Creates a two-way learning partnership by encouraging student accountability as
part of the educational process. Students are encouraged to seek the instructor’s
help and the instructor will be available and willing to provide extra assistance for
students experiencing difficulty
 Maintains “ownership” of student attendance and proactively maintains contact with
students
 Prepares weekly lesson plans inclusive of learning activities that stimulate student
involvement, encourage reflection and critical thinking, and take into consideration
different learning styles
 Maintains current knowledge of adult learning methodologies, new classroom
technologies and industry/healthcare standards through continuing education, such
as external development opportunities, inservice activities, membership in
professional organizations, and reading of current professional periodicals,
incorporating this knowledge into the learning environment
 Achieve assigned extern to hire metric. The standard is 50% Extern to Hire rate
 Assist in the development of student job lead
 Working with the Program Director, in consultation with the Campus Director,
assign students to their externship sites
 Conduct site visitations for assigned externs, completing site visitation reports and
documentation on a timely basis
 Supervise externship training in compliance with Academic Affairs Department
policies and guidelines
 Coordinate the exchange of externship information, such as timesheets, with the
Program Director/Registrar
 Attend and direct assigned externship orientation
 Advise externs as needed
 Attend staff, departmental and Advisory Board meetings as directed
 Participate in commencement ceremonies
 Communicate daily or as necessary with the Program Director
 Communicate daily or as necessary with the Career Services Department
 Assure compliance with all School policies and procedures
 Remain current on developments, practices and procedures, and equipment relating
to their program and professional specialty
 Perform other such duties as assigned

Qualifications:
 Must meet appropriate teacher qualifications for the program as required by
programs accreditation body.
 Minimum Associate’s degree in Sonography
 Required Minimum Certification:
o Current ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS) credential
o Current ARDMS (RVT) or CCI (RVS) credential
 Proficiency in teaching methodology, supervision, and classroom management
 Minimum of 3 years of in-field experience in a clinical environment
 Demonstrates a professional and positive attitude
 Self-starter, excellent organizational, problem solving, communication and customer
service skills.
