*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
* *Student Healthcare:* Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, emergency care, and health screenings (e.g., vision, hearing) in accordance with state regulations and district policy. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
* *Health Plan Management:* Implement and monitor individualized health care plans (IHPs) and emergency care plans (ECPs) for students with chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, severe allergies).
* *Records & Compliance:* Maintain accurate, confidential, and detailed student health records in compliance with state law (PA School Code) and federal regulations (HIPAA, FERPA).
* *Communication:* Serve as a key communication link between parents, physicians, and school personnel regarding student health needs. Assist in managing the district's health-related policies and procedures.
* *Mandated Reporter:* Fulfill all legal obligations as a mandated reporter for suspected child abuse and neglect in Pennsylvania.
*Qualifications*
* *Education:* Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
* *Certifications & Licensure:*
* Possession of a current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
* Possession of a current, active Pennsylvania Department of Education Certified School Nurse (CSN) certificate OR willing to become certified after hire.
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification.
* *Required Clearances:* As a condition of employment, all applicants must possess the following valid and current clearances:
* PA State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
* PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
* FBI Criminal Background Check (Act 114)
* *Skills & Abilities:*
* Strong clinical nursing skills and the ability to make sound clinical judgments.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of common childhood illnesses, health conditions, and developmental stages.
* Proficiency in maintaining electronic health records and using technology for communication.
*Compensation & Benefits*
* *Salary Range:* $60,000 - $67,500 commensurate with experience and based on current certifications.
* *Benefits:* Comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and participation in the Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS).
