We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the outbound operations of our distribution center. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping labels, documenting shipments, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that all outgoing goods are accurately processed and dispatched. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and documentation is essential. You will work closely with warehouse staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to our customers. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for maintaining shipping records and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations. This role also requires adherence to all safety standards, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While not heavily physically demanding, some lifting of up to 30 lbs may be required. Join our dynamic team and contribute to the smooth functioning of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with shipping carriers.
- Track outgoing shipments and provide updates.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing orders before dispatch.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Communicate with internal teams and external carriers regarding shipments.
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and company policies.
- Operate shipping software and equipment.
- Assist with resolving shipping discrepancies or issues.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with shipping carrier requirements.
- Understanding of warehouse safety protocols and PPE usage.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
