Join our dynamic logistics team as an Order Picker in Des Moines, Iowa! We are seeking motivated individuals to accurately and efficiently pick items for customer orders. Your primary responsibility will be navigating the warehouse using scanning devices to locate and retrieve products. This role is crucial to our overall warehouse operations and ensures our customers receive the correct items in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of your picking area, adhering to all safety protocols, and contributing to a positive team atmosphere. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently are highly valued. This position requires consistent lifting of up to 50 lbs and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order tickets.
- Use RF scanners and other equipment to track inventory.
- Repackage items as needed and ensure proper labeling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in inventory counts as required.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Meet or exceed picking productivity goals.
- Report any discrepancies or issues to a supervisor.
- Properly utilize required PPE, including safety vests and gloves.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of inventory control principles.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to PPE guidelines.
