We are looking for dependable Material Handlers to join our busy warehouse operations in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is essential for the smooth flow of goods, involving the receiving, storing, moving, and shipping of various materials and products. You will work closely with our logistics team to ensure efficiency and accuracy in all material handling processes. Safety is a core value, and we expect all employees to strictly follow established safety guidelines and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. This position requires individuals who are physically fit, capable of regular lifting, and possess a strong commitment to workplace safety. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming materials from trucks and verify shipment accuracy.
- Sort and place materials onto racks, shelves, or other designated storage areas.
- Transport materials to and from production or shipping areas using appropriate equipment.
- Pick and prepare materials for outgoing shipments according to specifications.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counting and stock adjustments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts if certified) safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and ensure the proper use of PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a material handler or warehouse worker role is preferred.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activity, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety protocols and the consistent use of PPE.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts if needed.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and efficiency.
