Are you a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator? We have an immediate opening for you at our state-of-the-art facility in Durham, North Carolina. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials within our warehouse. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. A rigorous commitment to safety is essential; you must consistently wear appropriate PPE and strictly follow all operational guidelines and lifting procedures to ensure a hazard-free environment. The ideal candidate possesses a valid forklift certification, a keen eye for detail, and experience in a fast-paced logistics setting. This role is critical to our operational success, ensuring the seamless flow of goods through our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload materials within the warehouse.
- Safely transport goods to and from designated areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues immediately.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper use of PPE and safe lifting practices.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment.
- Participate in ongoing safety training and operational improvement programs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of safe operating procedures and lifting techniques.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Understanding of logistics and material flow.
