Are you an experienced Forklift Operator looking for a stable and rewarding opportunity in Des Moines, Iowa? Our bustling distribution center is searching for a skilled individual to manage the movement of goods throughout our facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts to transport, load, and unload materials. This role requires precision, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and an unwavering commitment to safety. You will play a vital part in our logistics chain, ensuring that inventory is accurately tracked and efficiently moved to its designated locations. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a proven track record of safe operation, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Your attention to detail and adherence to safety regulations are paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload goods from trucks and trailers.
- Move and stack materials within the warehouse.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning items.
- Assist with shipping and receiving duties as needed.
- Contribute to a safe and productive work environment.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Experience with RF scanners is a plus.
