We are seeking a skilled Reach Truck Operator to join our busy logistics facility in Portland, Oregon. As a Reach Truck Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of reach trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count inventory in the warehouse. Your role is critical in maintaining organized storage, facilitating efficient put-away and retrieval processes, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods throughout our distribution center. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift operator certification, a proven track record of safe operation, and experience working in a high-volume warehouse environment. A strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount. You will be expected to work with precision and efficiency, contributing to the overall productivity of our logistics operations. This position requires the ability to work independently, pay close attention to detail, and maintain a high level of focus while operating heavy machinery. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting pre-operational checks, accurately identifying and transporting materials, and maintaining clear communication with supervisors and team members. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a reach truck to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Perform pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance on equipment.
- Load and unload trailers as required.
- Maintain accurate inventory placement and location data.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits.
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, potentially including lifting.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid and current reach truck operator certification.
- Proven experience operating reach trucks in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of logistics operations.
