DevOps Engineer
Robert Half is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to hire a DevOps Engineer (contract-to-hire). As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing software delivery and infrastructure management processes. You'll partner with team members to automate deployment pipelines, optimize system performance, and ensure the reliability of software applications. This position is onsite in Austin, TX three days per week. Key Responsibilities: Partner with development and operations teams to streamline and automate software deployment and infrastructure management Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to deliver reliable, efficient software releases Design and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for cloud and on-prem environments, automating provisioning, configuration, and scaling Monitor system performance, troubleshoot proactively, and ensure high availability and optimal responsiveness Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for configuration management, monitoring, and system maintenance Implement and enforce security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability assessments Collaborate with developers to design scalable, high-performance solutions that support stability and growth Manage and optimize AWS cloud resources and services for cost efficiency and performance Perform system backups, disaster recovery planning, and maintain data integrity and availability Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field 5+ years in a DevOps role, with proven success implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines at scale, ideally in a fast-growing environment Strong expertise in automation tools and scripting (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Python) Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes) Proficiency in version control systems (Git) and solid understanding of branching and merging strategies Experience with monitoring and log management tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack) for performance and error tracking Familiarity with database management (SQL and NoSQL) Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across teams Contract Benefit Offerings: Healthcare (medical, dental, and vision plans) 401(k) and retirement plans Commuter benefits Employee and vendor discounts Employee Assistance Program (EAP) And many more!
