Barista / Front Counter Associate

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. This role requires a positive attitude, strong multitasking skills, and a passion for creating a welcoming environment for our customers. Previous experience in the food industry is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, cashiering, and food safety within a dynamic team setting.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks using POS systems such as Micros POS.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in compliance with food safety standards.
• Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide excellent customer service.
• Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods.
• Perform basic food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when needed.
• Follow all food handling and safety procedures to ensure quality and hygiene standards are met.
• Restock supplies and ingredients as necessary to ensure smooth operation throughout shifts.
• Uphold a friendly, professional attitude to foster a positive environment for both customers and team members.

Experience

• Previous barista experience or work in the food industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided for those new to the role.
• Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, is advantageous.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing transactions accurately.
• Experience in food service, including serving, food preparation, and food handling, is beneficial.
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is desirable to ensure compliance with health regulations. This position offers an engaging environment where you can develop valuable skills in customer service, food preparation, and retail operations while working in a supportive team setting.

Pay: $15.00-$21.30 per hour
