St. Johns Classical Academy, Fleming Island Campus is currently seeking a motivated, dependable, and highly organized *Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)* to join our team full-time for the 2025/2026 school year (10-month position). This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping scholars succeed, takes initiative, and values collaboration. You'll be working closely with an SLP who is supportive and appreciative of a well-prepared and proactive teammate. Therapists must be willing to commit to the school's mission, Hillsdale College K-12 Education program in conjunction with the Barney Charter School Initiative (BCSI) ten essential elements and academic program, and scholar outcomes as outlined in the approved charter.
As the current SLPA transitions out of this role, we're looking for someone who can step in and continue providing high-quality support to both the scholars and the SLP.
*Responsibilities*
* Support morning and afternoon school duties as needed
* Prepare and organize engaging speech-language activities and materials
* Collect and maintain accurate scholar data for progress tracking
* Assist in writing and completing progress reports
* Ensure all therapy minutes are met in alignment with scholars’ IEPs
* Create and manage your own therapy schedule
* Update and maintain scholar files and documentation
* Collaborate regularly with general and special education teachers
* Become familiar with school-site and district IEP processes
* Attend IEP meetings when possible and appropriate
*Requirements*
* Must hold a valid *SLPA license in the state of Florida*
* Must be available *full-time (M-F, during school hours) *Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 3:25 p.m., but are subject to change at the discretion of the Head of School to meet the needs of the school and/or scholars
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Self-starter with a positive attitude and willingness to help
*Supervisory Responsibility*
· This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
*Work Environment*
· This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Noise levels may rise during periods of high scholar traffic.
*Physical Demands*
· The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation:
· · The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds in supplies which require bending, stooping, and lifting.
· · The employee must use hands and arms to manipulate objects.
· · The employee must use keyboards, tools, and other controls.
· · The employee must sit and stand for extended periods of time.
· · The employee will escort scholars around campus.
· · The employee must have normal vision and hearing with or without aid.
· · The employee must be able to move about assigned locations unaided during the workday.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
