(REGULAR PART TIME)
One (1) regular part time Diagnostic Imaging Clerk opportunity is available in the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Palmerston & District Hospital.
This position is unionized with OPSEU, Local 226.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging & Allied Health, this position will be responsible for facilitating effective communication and providing reception and clerical support to the Diagnostic Imaging department.
Reception/Clerical:
- Answer telephone, retrieve voice mail and return calls
- Process referrals, screening patients, and providing patient prep instructions
- Booking appointments in conjunction with Diagnostic Imaging staff
- Entering patients' demographics and appointments in Meditech application
- Maintain and manage waiting lists through Meditech application
- Responsible for word processing and communications including photocopying, faxing, and typing required (i.e. reports, letters, forms)
- Providing active filing, scanning and electronically filing current films, as well as indexing and purging. Shredding confidential department papers
- Sending reports to referring physicians
- Picking/dropping off mail
- General office organization and maintain office supply inventory
- Assist with maintaining monthly and annual statistics/workload measurements information, compiling and redirecting statistics
- Attend staff meetings and prepare meeting minutes
Additional Duties:
- Performs all other duties, as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Medical Office Administration Certification (or related program)
- Medical Terminology course or willingness to obtain
- Experience in Diagnostic Imaging department (preferred)
- Skilled in computer applicants including Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Meditech (Admissions/Registration, Community Wide Scheduling, Order Entry)
- Ability to work independently
- Exceptional organizational and time management skill with the demonstrated ability to multi-task and use time efficiently
- Effective problem solver with demonstrated critical thinking and conflict resolution skills
- Exceptional communication, public relations, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated, with demonstrated well-developed work habits
- Satisfactory performance and attendance required
- Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
- Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must completed a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired
NOTE: Candidates may be tested for qualifications described above.
HOURS OF WORK:
- Monday to Friday as established per department schedule (subject to change)
- As per Collective Agreement
SALARY:
- $27.98 to $28.88 per hour
