We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our ophthalmology specialty practice. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and handling, with a passion for providing exceptional veterinary services. This role is essential in ensuring the health and well-being of our animal patients while supporting veterinarians in various clinical tasks.
*Duties*
As a Veterinary Technician, your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
* Performing laboratory tests
* Administering medications and and treatments as prescribed
* Monitoring anesthesia and vital signs during surgical procedures
* Providing nursing care to hospitalized animals, including animal catheterization and restraint
* Communicating regularly with owners
* Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation for each patient
* Ensuring cleanliness and organization of the clinic, adhering to aseptic techniques
* Handling animals safely and effectively to minimize stress during visits
*Experience*
The ideal candidate will have:
* RVT license in good standing
* Previous veterinary technician experience required. Specialty experienced preferred but not required.
* Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices
* Experience with dog and cat handling
* Familiarity with laboratory procedures and surgical equipment used in veterinary settings
* Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $33.00 - $36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
