Join our dedicated team as a Receiving Clerk in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is critical to our **logistics** operations, as you will be the first point of contact for all incoming goods. Your responsibilities will include verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders, inspecting items for damage, and accurately documenting all received products. You will also be responsible for staging received goods for inventory or further processing. Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail are essential for this position. This role involves regular **lifting** of boxes and materials, and operating equipment such as pallet jacks. Maintaining a secure and organized receiving area is key. We prioritize **safety** above all else, and strict adherence to all **safety** guidelines and the mandatory use of **PPE** is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from trucks.
- Verify quantities and inspect for damages, noting any discrepancies.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system.
- Stage received items for put-away or further processing.
- Ensure the receiving area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Operate pallet jacks and other receiving equipment safely.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments regarding deliveries.
- Assist with inventory counts as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear and utilize required PPE correctly.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse receiving environment, with knowledge of inventory systems. Excellent record-keeping skills and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment are required. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
