We are seeking an energetic Picker/Packer to join our busy warehouse in Des Moines, Iowa. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting items from warehouse shelves and preparing them for shipment to our customers. Your attention to detail and efficiency are key to ensuring customer satisfaction and the smooth flow of our logistics operations. You will work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a dedicated team. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves based on customer orders or pick lists.
- Verify product codes and quantities to ensure accuracy before packing.
- Pack items carefully and securely into appropriate shipping containers, using dunnage and protective materials as needed.
- Apply shipping labels and prepare packages for dispatch.
- Operate pallet jacks and other equipment as necessary to move inventory.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station and contribute to overall warehouse cleanliness and Safety.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety protocols and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks such as receiving, stocking, or put-away as needed.
- Participate in inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Ensure that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and on time, contributing to efficient logistics.
- Must be able to perform continuous physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and frequent Lifting of items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Report any Safety concerns or equipment issues to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Picker/Packer or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand pick lists and order information.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving frequent Lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Commitment to following all Safety guidelines and wearing the required PPE.
