We are seeking certified and experienced Reach Truck Operators for our major logistics facility in Chicago, Illinois. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of reach trucks to move, stack, and retrieve inventory within our high-rack storage systems. This position requires a high level of skill, precision, and adherence to safety protocols. You will perform tasks such as loading and unloading trailers, replenishing stock, and ensuring accurate placement of goods. Regular equipment inspections and maintenance reporting are also part of your responsibilities. Safety is our utmost priority; therefore, strict compliance with all warehouse safety standards and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. The role involves operating machinery in a demanding warehouse environment and may require occasional manual lifting. Responsibilities:
- Operate reach trucks to move, stack, and retrieve palletized goods in high-rack storage.
- Load and unload materials from trucks safely and efficiently.
- Replenish inventory in designated picking and storage locations.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections and maintenance checks on reach trucks.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Maintain accurate inventory placement and records using the WMS.
- Adhere strictly to all warehouse safety regulations and company policies.
- Properly utilize required PPE at all times.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including some lifting.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment within the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification or license for Reach Truck operation.
- Proven experience operating reach trucks in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as required by the role.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be willing and able to wear all required PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
