Our Indianapolis, Indiana distribution center is seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk. This role is critical for ensuring that our products reach our customers on time and in excellent condition. You will be responsible for processing outgoing shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. Your contribution is vital to our company's logistics success and customer satisfaction. A keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to safety are a must.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick and pack orders for shipment.
- Verify order details against shipping manifests and ensure order accuracy.
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Package products securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pick-up schedules and delivery tracking.
- Operate pallet jacks and other shipping equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free shipping area.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock management as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies and safety procedures.
- Wear all required PPE correctly and consistently.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping or a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform accurate lifting of up to 45 lbs.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of shipping procedures and logistics processes.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and tracking.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime during peak periods.
