Join our team in Portland, Oregon, as a Material Handler! We are seeking a motivated individual to manage the movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. This role is crucial for the efficiency of our logistics operations, ensuring that materials are received, stored, and dispatched correctly and safely. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding Safety standards, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against relevant documentation.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated locations to ensure accessibility and accuracy.
- Prepare materials for shipment, including picking, staging, and labeling.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular checks of equipment for proper function and report any issues.
- Adhere to all warehouse Safety rules and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
- Support the broader logistics and warehouse team with various tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform physical duties, including consistent Lifting of objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and inventory principles.
- Strong commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to all guidelines.
- Willingness to wear and correctly use all required PPE.
- Team player with good communication skills.
