Join our thriving logistics operation in Raleigh, North Carolina, as a Receiving Clerk. This critical role involves meticulously checking in all incoming freight, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and accurately documenting received goods. You will be responsible for inspecting incoming shipments for damage, ensuring that all materials meet quality standards before they enter the warehouse. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments. You will be a key player in our supply chain, ensuring that inventory levels are correct and that all incoming products are processed efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using scanning equipment and warehouse management systems (WMS). Adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE, is essential. This role involves significant attention to detail, proper lifting techniques, and a commitment to the smooth flow of logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect all incoming shipments.
- Verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Document all received goods accurately in the WMS.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or damages.
- Stage received goods for put-away.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Communicate with vendors and internal staff regarding deliveries.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist with inventory control as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics and supply chain processes.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in receiving or a similar warehouse role. Basic computer skills and familiarity with WMS. Ability to perform accurate data entry. Excellent organizational skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Understanding of safety protocols and the importance of PPE. Knowledge of logistics principles is a plus.
