The NDT Inside Sales Representative acts as the technical and commercial liaison between customers and the manufacturing teams. Their primary goal is to generate and nurture leads, prepare quotations, support customers technically, and close orders, all while ensuring a high standard of customer service.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
* Respond promptly to inbound inquiries from customers, distributors, and agents.
* Qualify and nurture leads generated via marketing campaigns, trade shows, and online channels.
* Conduct outbound calls and emails to prospective customers in target industries (e.g., aerospace, oil & gas, power generation, automotive, manufacturing inspection).
* Maintain and update CRM systems with lead and opportunity information.
* Support field sales in expanding the customer base through research and proactive engagement.
* Prepare accurate and timely quotations, proposals, and tender documents for NDT instruments, accessories, and service packages.
* Ensure compliance with customer specifications, terms, and conditions.
* Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the sales cycle.
* Provide post-sale support such as order tracking, documentation, and coordination with logistics.
* Follow up quotations to secure orders and gather feedback on lost opportunities.
* Build long-term relationships by understanding customer inspection challenges and offering tailored NDT solutions.
* Assist customers with equipment configuration and product selection.
* Stay updated on product updates, standards (ASTM, ISO, ASME), and competitive offerings.
* Collaborate with production, to ensure accurate order processing and delivery timelines.
* Coordinate with Sales Director to ensure aligned pricing and product positioning.
* Maintain accurate sales records and forecasts in Salesforce.
* Provide management with regular reports on pipeline status and market trends.
* Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and new technologies in the NDT sector.
* Identify opportunities for new products or product enhancements based on customer feedback.
* Performing other work-related duties as assigned
*Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)*
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials) or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in NDT or industrial sales.
* Technical understanding of NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT, ET, AE, etc.).
* Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce, NetSuite, or similar).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to read technical drawings/specifications.
* Customer-oriented mindset with attention to detail.
* Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
