*Position Overview*
The *Reactive Plumbing Engineer* will be responsible for responding to urgent plumbing and piping issues, diagnosing faults, and implementing effective on-site solutions. This role requires exceptional technical proficiency, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work under time-sensitive and safety-critical conditions. The successful candidate will represent Chera Gas in the field and uphold our standards of professionalism, compliance, and customer service excellence.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Respond promptly to reactive maintenance calls for plumbing, piping, and gas system issues.
* Conduct thorough fault diagnostics and implement immediate repairs or temporary stabilisation measures.
* Assess risks on-site and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health, safety, and industry regulations.
* Provide technical advice to clients regarding system condition, repair options, and safety considerations.
* Complete detailed service reports including findings, corrective actions, and recommendations for further works.
* Collaborate with internal engineering, scheduling, and customer support teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
* Maintain tools, equipment, and company resources to the highest operational and safety standards.
* Ensure compliance with Chera Gas protocols, statutory requirements, and relevant plumbing/gas engineering codes.
*Qualifications & Experience*
* Diploma or Degree in Plumbing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
* Proven experience in reactive or emergency plumbing roles (gas-related experience highly preferred).
* Strong understanding of plumbing systems, gas pipework, valves, fittings, and safety controls.
* Knowledge of relevant standards, regulations, and compliance frameworks.
* Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and system schematics.
* Excellent diagnostic skills with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
* Strong communication, customer service, and reporting skills.
* Full valid driver’s licence (if company vehicle will be provided).

Pay: From £28,000.00 per year
