The Role:
We are looking for an experienced engineering leader to manage our Content Platform team, which owns the tools that help create, translate, and publish Khan Academy content. This role will:
Drive delivery on product goals through direct people management.
Partner with cross‑functional colleagues in design, content, international, and program management.
Build and grow experts and leaders through feedback and personal career development.
Collaborate with external partners to deliver contractual features.
Partner with architects and other engineering managers to ensure product architecture, performance, and quality meet user needs.
Empower engineers and support them with tools and processes to efficiently deliver amazing user experiences.
Have at least 4 years of experience managing teams of software engineers.
Be experienced with Agile development methodologies, web application architecture, and design systems.
Manage a diverse and distributed team of engineers from all backgrounds.
Communicate clearly, both spoken and written.
Be a “player‑coach,” coding when necessary, typically in a senior backend or backend‑leaning full‑stack capacity.
Give and receive constructive feedback.
Show passion for helping others succeed.
Be motivated by Khan Academy’s mission to provide a free, world‑class education.
Demonstrate cross‑cultural competency and inclusion skills.

Great to have, but not required:
Experience building generative‑AI/LLM products or working with prompt engineering and RAG.
Experience building platforms for product teams, balancing roadmap and vision.

Salary Range:
$181,990 – $204,739.20 USD / $245,925 – $276,666.30 CAD.
