Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills, familiarity with dental office operations, and proficiency with electronic medical records systems. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a welcoming environment
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and confirm patient visits
  • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix and Epic
  • Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing procedures
  • Prepare and update patient charts, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and current
  • Handle administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling with the clinical team to optimize daily workflow
  • Assist with front desk duties such as check-in/check-out procedures and payment processing
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting preferred
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Dentrix and Epic is highly desirable
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in office experience, including multi-line phone systems and administrative tasks
  • Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training in medical or dental administration is advantageous

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
