Youth Outreach Team Lead

Full-Time – 37.5 hours per week (One year term with possibility of extension)

We are looking for a positive, strength-focused, and enthusiastic professional with a passion for building trusting relationships with children, youth, families and staff. You will be supporting a staff team working primarily with vulnerable and at risk youth and their families providing outreach supports, home visits, resource navigation and community referrals. This includes individualized supports, group facilitation and working both independently and collaboratively with community partners and supporting other Agency child and youth programs and services as fits.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Minimum of a Post-Secondary Diploma in a relevant human services field

· Registration, licensing and/or certification as required by relevant professional bodies

· Minimum 1 year of direct experience with youth or young adults facing multiple risk factors and navigating systems

Knowledge and Skills and Attributes

· Solid understanding of child/youth development and family dynamics

· Ability to build trusting, positive relationships using a strength-based, non-judgmental approach

· Strong understanding of youth mental health, addictions, trauma, homelessness, and the youth justice system

· Competent in assessment, case management, group facilitation and program planning

· Skilled in trauma-informed practice, harm reduction, and culturally responsive care

· Ability to serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team

· Excellent verbal and written communication, professional boundaries, organizational and interpersonal skills

· Ability to be physically active and meet the physical demands of the job - walking distances, engaging in sporting activities, stooping, squatting, and occasionally lifting supplies weighing approximately 20 pounds

Other:

· Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle

· Current certification in First Aid and Suicide Intervention

· Valid Police Information and Vulnerable Sector Check and Alberta Children's Services Intervention Check

· Willing to work a flexible schedule, which could include daytime, evening, and Saturday hours

Pay: $28.34-$29.85 per hour
