Title: Data Migration Coordinator (*6 Month Contract*)
Reports To: Director, Data Governance

Role Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to support the migration of business data into a centralized SharePoint-based repository. This role involves working closely with internal teams across the organization to locate, transfer, and validate data, ensuring proper folder structures and metadata standards are applied.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Migrate files from existing storage locations into a centralized SharePoint repository following established governance standards.
  • Validate folder structures and apply required metadata during migration.
  • Perform basic data entry for missing metadata and ensure accuracy.
  • Conduct quality checks and basic data validation post-migration.
  • Track migration progress and maintain detailed logs of completed work versus outstanding items and provide regular status updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain an inventory of migrated data, including documentation of judgement calls (e.g., files excluded, remediation steps taken, and rationale)
  • Collaborate with Data Governance team and departmental data stewards for guidance and issue resolution.
  • Escalate unclear or complex cases promptly for review.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • College diploma or equivalent education required
  • 1-2 years prior work experience in data entry, administration, or similar roles
  • Intermediate knowledge of SharePoint (navigation, permissions, metadata tagging, bulk upload).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with stakeholders across multiple business units and levels.
  • Ability to follow structured processes and work independently under guidance.
  • Familiarity with Power Automate or other workflow automation tools is an asset.
  • Experience with data migration or content/document management systems is an asset.
