We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable pharmacist to work part time. We offer a relaxed work environment compared to large chain pharmacies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical pharmacy and patient care, with experience in various pharmacy settings including LTC (Long-Term Care) and acute care environments. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient service, ensuring safe medication administration, and collaborating effectively with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
*Responsibilities*
* Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients, including medication therapy management and patient assessments.
* Review and interpret physician orders for accuracy and appropriateness, ensuring compliance with medical management protocols.
* Compound medications as needed, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety standards.
* Administer immunizations and educate patients on medication use, potential side effects, and health maintenance.
* Manage inventory effectively, ensuring the availability of medications while minimizing waste.
* Utilize pharmacy software, EMR systems, and EHR systems for accurate documentation and record-keeping.
* Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop pain management strategies and optimize pharmacotherapy for patients in critical care or pediatrics.
* Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality.
* Participate in continuous education opportunities to stay current with advancements in pharmacology and clinical practices.
*Qualifications*
* certification in vaccine administration preferred
* Familiarity with pharmacy technician responsibilities is beneficial.
* Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
