$99,000.00/yr - $198,000.00/yr Position Summary: Are you a seasoned data engineer with a passion for transforming raw data into valuable insights? Join VIZIO's Data Lake Team as a Senior Data Engineer, where you'll play a key role in shaping the future of data-driven decision-making. About the Team: The Data Lake Team at VIZIO is dedicated to building robust data infrastructure and enabling advanced analytics. Our mission is to harness the power of data to drive strategic decisions and innovation across the company. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will collaborate with cross?functional teams to develop scalable data solutions that support our business goals. What Youll Do Design and implement efficient ETL processes to manage data pipelines. Develop and maintain data pipelines for analytics and operational use. Work with SQL, NoSQL databases, and cloud services like AWS. Optimize in?memory processing and data formats (Avro, Parquet, JSON). Utilize stream?processing systems (Storm, Spark?Structured?Streaming, Kafka). Manage data pipeline and workflow tools (Apache Airflow, AWS Data Pipeline). Lead projects and mentor junior team members.
What Youll Bring
Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and/or Scala. Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases. Strong understanding of in?memory processing and data formats. Hands?on experience with AWS cloud services and stream?processing systems. Knowledge of big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka). Familiarity with software engineering tools/practices (GitHub, VSCode, CI/CD). Background in data observability and monitoring. BS or MS in Computer Science or related field. 5+ years of experience as a data engineer.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science and 3 years experience in software engineering or related field. 5 years experience in software engineering or related field. Masters degree in Computer Science and 1 years experience in software engineering or related field. 2 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.
Preferred Qualifications
Data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics experience. ETL tools and working with large data sets in the cloud. Masters degree in Computer Science or related field and 3 years' experience in software engineering. Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, knowledge of implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. Knowledge of accessibility best practices and willingness to continue building accessible products and services following VIZIOs accessibility standards and guidelines.
