The Opportunity: In-Person Science Teacher

This is an excellent in-person teaching opportunity for current science educators seeking consistent, rewarding part-time work. The ideal candidate is currently teaching science, enrolled in teacher's college, or actively working in a related educational field.

We strongly encourage applicants with robust academic backgrounds in Science, Math, Physics, and Engineering. This is a facility-based position requiring reliable commuting to our North York office.

Essential Qualifications

• Teaching Experience: Mandatory proven teaching experience with Grades 7-10 science classes within a Canadian or US curriculum context.
• Academic Proficiency: Exceptional academic proficiency and confidence in teaching general science concepts (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science), which will be rigorously demonstrated during the selection process.
• Technical Skill: Proficiency in utilizing online teaching tools (essential for resource preparation, administrative tasks, and marking).
• Commitment: Teachers are required to teach a minimum of 4 hours per week.

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, engaging, and hands-on lessons to small classes of students or through private tutoring sessions in person.
• Develop and prepare lesson materials strictly aligned with program guidelines and accurately assess and mark homework and formal student assessments.
• Actively work to promote and nurture students' intrinsic interests and curiosity in the subject of Science.

Location, Compensation, and Application

• Location: Our office is located at 201 Consumers Rd, North York, ON.
• Commute: The location is a 15-minute walk from Don Mills Station.
• Driving: Parking stipends are provided for all our teachers.
• Compensation: Compensation is calculated competitively based on scheduled teaching hours and prior teaching experience.
