We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Specialist, HRIS & Payroll to join our team. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, administration of the company pension plan, and the effective management of the Ceridian Dayforce HRIS.

As the internal subject matter expert, the Specialist ensures compliance with employment legislation, tax regulations, and pension requirements while maintaining data integrity across payroll, compensation, and HRIS functions.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration

  • Analyze, verify, and enter payroll data in accordance with company standards and audit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with employment standards and statutory reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records for payroll, deductions, and year-end reporting (T4s, ROEs, etc.).
  • Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and managers in a timely, professional manner.

HRIS Administration

  • Administer and maintain the Dayforce HRIS, including configuration, optimization, and data accuracy.
  • Generate and analyze reports to support business needs and decision-making.
  • Audit HR data related to new hires, terminations, and compensation changes.
  • Lead integrations with third-party systems to streamline processes.

Employee Records & Leave Administration

  • Manages complete employee life cycle documentation (new hires, leaves, terminations).
  • Oversees return-to-work processes and ensures proper documentation is obtained and filed.
  • Maintains an organized and compliant e-filing system.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with ESA and CRA
  • Identify and implement process improvements in payroll and HRIS
  • Standardize procedures across departments to enhance system accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support internal and external audits and assist with year-end reporting.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources and Payroll.
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation (or in progress) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Strong knowledge of Provincial payroll legislation, ESA, and CRA requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office Suite skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with strong technical aptitude.
