Collision Refinisher

CARSTAR Collision and Glass is looking for a full-time automotive refinisher, to join our busy shop located in Downtown Winnipeg. This position will report to the Shop Manager and will offer the successful candidate the chance to be an integral part of our team.

The refinish technician is responsible for increasing the efficiency of the store by ensuring quick and thorough refinish applications while in compliance with MPI and manufacturer standards. You should be able to work comfortably from start to finish of the refinish process, from prepping parts, to spraying in the booth, to assisting with reassembly. You need to read and understand the estimate to ensure that paint jobs are a exact match to what is being replaced, and be able to communicate any discrepancies with management. Daily production meetings assist with ensuring the key information is communicated regarding jobs in the shop.

As the automotive refinisher you will be responsible for all aspects of prepping and painting the vehicle/parts according to the estimate.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 2+ years of collision repair experience in a production body shop or equivalent training/schooling experience
• Red Seal in Automotive Refinishing
• Knowledge with Mitchell Connect/Repair Center/MPI standards
• Work independently without close supervision
• Works well with others & positive work ethic
• Flexible/adaptable to constant change
• Highly organized; ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments
• Ability to prioritize, organize and plan work under own initiative
• Strong communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening)
• Motivated and follows instructions
• Works well under pressure
• High production capabilities
• Ability to work safely
