Are you a creative, hands-on culinary leader with a passion for bold Italian flavours, scratch-made dishes, and delivering unforgettable guest experiences? Polpette — Turner Hospitality Group's newest Italian concept — is looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and bring the heart of Italian cooking to life.

About the Role

As the Head Chef at Polpette, you will be both the creative and operational leader of the kitchen. You'll drive menu development centered on Italian classics and regional specialties, maintain exceptional culinary standards, and ensure each plate reflects the soul of our concept. Working closely with ownership and management, you'll help shape the culinary identity of Polpette from the ground up.

This role is ideal for a passionate, motivated chef who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is ready to make a lasting impact on Collingwood's dining community.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the Kitchen: Oversee daily culinary operations with a focus on consistency, precision, and Italian culinary technique.
  • Inspire Your Team: Mentor, train, and motivate kitchen staff to achieve excellence and grow in their craft.
  • Maintain Standards: Uphold strict food safety, sanitation, and health regulations at all times.
  • Drive Performance: Manage inventory, ordering, and food costs to support operational and financial goals.
  • Collaborate: Partner with ownership and leadership on menu development, seasonal features, and new initiatives.
  • Shape Culture: Foster a positive, professional, and growth-oriented kitchen environment.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 2 years of culinary leadership experience in a full-service or upscale kitchen
  • Strong background in Italian cuisine and cooking techniques
  • Proven success in team leadership, cost management, and high-volume kitchen operations
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • A hands-on, standards-driven approach and a genuine passion for creating extraordinary guest experiences
