We are seeking a reliable and experienced Material Handler for our busy logistics facility in Nashville, Tennessee. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes receiving, unloading, storing, and preparing materials for shipment. You will operate various types of equipment and play a critical role in maintaining the flow of goods within our distribution center. Safety is our top priority, and all employees are expected to strictly follow safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to lifting best practices. This role is physically demanding and requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Store materials in appropriate locations, ensuring proper organization and inventory control.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock management.
- Prepare materials for shipping, ensuring accurate staging and labeling.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification (preferred but not required if willing to train).
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
- Proficiency in operating various material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Experience in logistics operations is highly desirable.
