We are seeking a skilled and reliable Reach Truck Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a reach truck to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient warehouse operations and ensuring timely order fulfillment. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, handling a variety of products, and collaborating with other warehouse staff to achieve daily goals. A strong commitment to safety and adherence to all company policies and procedures are paramount. Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining the reach truck to ensure it is in good working order, performing pre-operational checks, and reporting any mechanical issues immediately. You will also be involved in cycle counting and inventory management, ensuring accuracy and orderliness within the warehouse. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. Prior experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus. We provide all necessary PPE and emphasize safe lifting techniques to prevent injuries. Your role in our logistics network is vital to our success.
Responsibilities:
- Operate reach truck safely and efficiently to move and stack inventory.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other transport vehicles.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance of the reach truck.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with inventory counts and checks as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of proper PPE.
- Follow safe lifting procedures to handle materials of varying weights and sizes.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of warehouse operations and logistics flow.
