We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our fast-paced warehouse in San Diego, California. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout our distribution center, playing a critical role in our daily logistics operations. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to Safety, and the ability to operate various types of forklifts. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials and products within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Transport materials from receiving areas to storage, and from storage to shipping docks.
- Assist with inventory management, including locating and organizing stock.
- Follow all established safety procedures and regulations, including proper handling of goods and maintaining clear pathways.
- Operate other warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks, when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, ensuring no obstructions in aisles or safety zones.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately to management.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Contribute to efficient logistics by ensuring timely movement of goods.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling techniques.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety best practices and regulations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and maintain a strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
This role is essential to our logistics chain, requiring precision, safety consciousness, and operational expertise.
