We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is integral to the smooth functioning of our warehouse, focusing on the efficient movement, organization, and preparation of materials. You will be responsible for receiving, stocking, and distributing materials, ensuring that inventory levels are maintained accurately and that materials are readily available for production or shipping. Your commitment to safety and operational excellence will be highly valued. This position requires physical stamina and a methodical approach to tasks within our logistics operations. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel to ensure that all material handling processes are carried out in accordance with company standards and safety regulations. We believe in providing a secure and productive work environment, and this role is critical to maintaining that standard. Proper handling and lifting techniques are essential. We are looking for individuals who are ready to contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere.Responsibilities:
- Receive, unpack, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Stock materials in designated locations within the warehouse, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Fulfill material requests from various departments, ensuring timely delivery.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Perform regular inventory checks and assist with cycle counting.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, adhering to safety protocols and proper storage practices.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with shipping preparations, including staging and organizing outgoing materials.
- Adhere to all lifting requirements and safe handling procedures to prevent injuries.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with basic inventory control principles.
- Knowledge of safe material handling techniques and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a logistics environment.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to stand and move for extended periods.
- A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all established procedures.
