Role Description Step into the spotlight as a Data Scientist in our UK Commercial Customer Analytics team, collaborating with cross‑functional partners to uncover business challenges, design bold data experiments, and build predictive models that drive smarter decisions.
Your expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualisation will transform complex datasets into powerful insights, shaping strategy and customer experience across the business.
With a sharp analytical mindset, exceptional problem‑solving skills, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences, you’ll play a pivotal role in turning data into impact and innovation.
This will be a hybrid role based out of our Guildford office.
Salary Information Pay: Circa £50,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and formulate data‑driven solutions.
Analyse large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and optimisation opportunities.
Develop and implement advanced machine learning models for predictive analytics.
Conduct statistical analysis and hypothesis testing to validate model performance.
Collaborate with data engineers to integrate data from various sources.
Create data visualisations and dashboards to communicate insights effectively.
Stay up‑to‑date with the latest data science techniques and best practices.
Participate in cross‑functional projects and contribute to innovative data‑driven strategies.
Document methodologies, experiments, and results to ensure reproducibility.
Essential Skills
Proven experience as a Data Scientist, with a strong track record of developing analytical models and generating data‑driven insights.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R and SQL, and experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries.
Solid understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
Experience with machine learning algorithms and frameworks (e.g., AzureML, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch).
Familiarity with data visualisation tools (Plotly, Seaborn, PowerBI) to create informative visualisations.
Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to translate business challenges into data science solutions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Experience with Azure cloud platforms (Azure ML, Synapse, AI Foundry).
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
