Would you like to work on some of the greatest franchises in gaming history? What about working on our new original IP? Certain Affinity is the largest independent developer in Texas, based out of Austin, and we have a growing presence in Toronto, Canada. Our culture reflects the values and the vibrant nature of the cities we call home. This includes a commitment to evolution, diversity, excellence, and work-life balance. We are also excited to be the latest recipient of the Canadian Studio of the Year award. We're best known for co-developing numerous AAA FPS games, though now we are creating compelling new games of our own. We're always on the lookout for amazing talent to join our team.
We are seeking an experienced Outsource Manager to support the delivery of high-quality character, hard surface, and vehicle content from our external development partners. You will collaborate closely with internal art leads, production, and technical teams to facilitate a smooth, transparent, and efficient outsource pipeline. You will own the daily communication, review, and quality management of outsourced assets and collaborate closely with leads to meet quality and milestone goals.
Responsibilities
  • Manage all outsourced character, hard surface, and vehicle asset production from initial brief through final delivery.
  • Prepare detailed work packages for external partners, including scopes of work, reference, technical documentation, quality targets, and scheduling requirements.
  • Provide frequent, clear, and actionable feedback to vendors to maintain alignment with artistic style, technical specifications, and project goals.
  • Ensure all outsourced assets meet the project's visual quality bar, performance constraints, and memory/technical requirements.
  • Track outsource deliverables against internal and external schedules, proactively identifying risks and coordinating solutions with art leads and production.
  • Maintain strong, positive working relationships with external vendors, acting as the primary point of contact for these content categories.
  • Anticipate workflow challenges, propose process improvements, and contribute to documentation supporting scalable outsource practices.
  • Review incoming assets in DCC tools and in engine to validate compliance with artistic, technical, and integration guidelines.
  • Partner with Technical Art, Engineering, and Production to ensure smooth downstream implementation.
  • Contribute to improving Certain Affinity's external development competency through consistent execution and informed recommendations.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of professional experience in game development with responsibility for external development or outsource pipelines.
  • Experience managing outsourced content in character art, hard surface modeling, and/or vehicle asset creation.
  • Shipped at least one AAA title supporting outsourced art content.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver clear, actionable feedback and maintain quality across multiple asset types.
  • Experience preparing work packages, briefs, and documentation for external teams.
  • Strong understanding of next‑gen workflows, PBR standards, and technical constraints for real‑time engines.
  • Experience reviewing art content in DCC tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across disciplines.
