We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team in Des Moines, Iowa. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials and products within our facility, ensuring the smooth flow of our logistics operations. The ideal candidate is experienced, possesses excellent control over various types of forklifts, and demonstrates a strong commitment to Safety. You will operate forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload goods, supporting receiving, put-away, and shipping processes. This position requires a keen awareness of your surroundings, the ability to follow instructions precisely, and meticulous attention to detail to prevent accidents and damage to goods. Maintaining the forklift and ensuring it is in safe working order is also part of your responsibilities. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and management to optimize material handling and storage. Wearing the appropriate PPE at all times is mandatory. The ability to perform moderate Lifting and operate in a physically demanding environment is necessary. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Transport goods between different areas of the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Follow all Safety regulations and company procedures.
- Adhere to proper lifting techniques and ensure the stability of loads.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Utilize and wear required PPE consistently.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong understanding of Safety procedures and best practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
