*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:*
* Plan, direct and coordinate nursing services
* Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of all nursing personnel
* Provide clinical leadership, strategic, and long-term goals for the nursing staff
* Determine, assign, and assess performance objectives for nursing department
* Organize, coordinate, develop and review policies, procedures, and nursing protocols to meet all regulatory, compliance, and quality care standards.
* Responsible for the quality of care, operational, and financial efficiency of the nursing department
* Lead and develop the nursing staff within the facility, providing performance goals, feedback, and development opportunities
* Develop and oversee function/departmental budget and reporting
* Direct and conduct recruitment, hiring, and training of personnel
* Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
* Provide direct care as needed
* Perform other functions and tasks as assigned
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities: *include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Maintains a current, valid Arkansas State Nursing License as a registered professional nurse
* Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related health care field preferred
* Possesses a minimum one (1) year of experience in nursing service administration. Additional education or experience in such areas as rehabilitative or geriatric nursing is preferred
* Possesses strong knowledge of state, federal and local regulations as they pertain to long term care including the survey process
* Demonstrates proficiency in scheduling, leading, directing, and supervising the nursing staff.
* Develops and maintains staffing patterns for nursing according to safety needs, State regulations, budgetary guidelines, and supervisory needs of residents.
* Is employed full-time and serves only one facility in such capacity
* Maintains rapport with outside medical professionals
* Successfully completes facility conducted orientation, mandatory training and in-service programs
* Must meet health assessment requirements, including two stage Mantoux skin test
* Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
* Ability to work varied and/or unscheduled hours; self-directed individual
* Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
* Aptitude in problem-solving
* Concise, clear articulate command of both written and spoken word and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required
