Join Our Cutting-Edge Team: Meta Reality Labs is seeking dynamic PhD-level interns to elevate our research in imaging and computer vision technologies that shape the future of AR/VR systems. As a member of our world-class team, you will work on pioneering algorithms, architectures, and tools aimed at resolving real-world challenges in imaging and computer vision, all while collaborating with specialized hardware. What You'll Do: Invent and refine innovative algorithms for image processing, computer vision, and multimodal data integration. Design and prototype novel architectures for real-time image and video processing tailored for AR/VR applications. Create machine learning models that seamlessly interface with specialized imaging hardware, prioritizing performance, energy efficiency, and scalability. Conduct evaluations of image and video quality using both objective and subjective assessment techniques. Establish new tools and workflows aimed at enhancing the visual quality and computational efficiency of vision systems. Collaborate closely with hardware teams to co-develop algorithms that maximize the use of specialized accelerators or custom silicon for performance enhancement. Engage in advanced research with the goal of publishing your findings at top-tier conferences and workshops within the fields of imaging, computer vision, and machine learning. Effectively communicate your findings and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences. Minimum Qualifications: Currently pursuing or near completion of a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, machine learning, computer vision or a related discipline. Proven experience in developing and implementing advanced algorithms for imaging, computer vision, or machine learning applications. Proficient in Python and/or MATLAB, and C++. Familiarity with leading machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other related tools. Must have work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization throughout the internship. Preferred Qualifications: Intent to return to academic program after completing the internship. Demonstrated success through first-authored publications at prestigious workshops or conferences in imaging, computer vision, or machine learning (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML). Experience in designing computer vision algorithms optimized for specialized hardware including GPUs, DSPs, or custom ASICs. Strong understanding of image and video quality metrics and evaluation methodologies. Engagement in software-hardware co-design and model development that interacts with low-level system components. Ability to create tools for data processing, visualization, and performance assessment. Acquainted with state-of-the-art methods in computational imaging, video compression, 3D reconstruction, or AR/VR applications. Experience working collaboratively and communicating effectively within cross-functional teams. Compensation: $7,313/month to $12,134/month + benefits Equal Opportunity: Meta is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
