*Summary*
We are seeking a Paralegal well-versed in product liability litigation to join our Milwaukee team. Pay is commensurate with experience and we offer excellent benefits.
This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:
- Screen calls from potential clients
- Conduct technical research on the product involved
- Research defense experts
- Attend and assist at hearings, depositions and trials
- Attend inspections of the subject product
- Attend strategy meetings with attorneys and experts
- Draft written discovery / Respond to written discovery
- Review discovery responses from defense
- Organize documents both physically and electronically
- Prepare documents for depositions, hearings and trials
- Create deposition preparation books
- Schedule depositions of clients, witnesses, experts
- Summarize depositions
- Schedule attorney meetings
- Work with investigators
- Litigation:
o Answer Interrogatories/Request to Produce
o Draft pleadings / correspondence / memos / Motions to Compel
o Prepare Notice of Deposition
o Prepare Witness Lists
o Assist with trial preparation
*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES*
- Good understanding of the product liability process
- Keyboarding skills a must
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Good phone skills
- Ability to assist attorneys with litigation work including handling discovery process through trial
*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE*
o Minimum 5 years of experience in product liability law or equivalent
o Paralegal Degree or Bachelor’s degree required
