We are looking for a reliable Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Jacksonville, Florida. This role is essential for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, verifying package contents, and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and attention to detail are critical for success. The Shipping Clerk will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our outbound logistics operations and ensuring timely delivery to our customers. You must strictly adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices. Responsibilities include: Generating shipping labels and preparing shipping documentation for all outgoing packages. Coordinating with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL freight). Verifying package contents against shipping orders to ensure accuracy. Weighing and measuring packages as required. Ensuring all packages are properly sealed and secured for transit. Tracking shipments and providing updates as needed. Maintaining accurate shipping records. Communicating with internal departments and external carriers to resolve any shipping-related issues. Adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE and safe lifting techniques. Assisting with general warehouse duties as needed to support logistics operations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of safety procedures, including proper PPE and safe lifting techniques.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
