We are seeking experienced Forklift Operators for our busy distribution center in Washington, D.C. As a Forklift Operator, you will be crucial to the efficient and safe operation of our logistics network. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory within the warehouse, and ensuring materials are properly stored. We require individuals with a strong safety record, excellent operational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a productive work environment. This role demands precision, vigilance, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic setting. Your contribution directly impacts the flow of goods. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transport goods throughout the facility.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring accuracy and minimizing damage.
- Store and retrieve inventory from racking systems.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any defects or necessary maintenance.
- Assist with inventory counts and organization.
- Maintain a clean, clutter-free, and safe work environment.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Support the broader logistics team as needed.
Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Forklift Operator experience is required. Valid forklift certification is essential. Must possess a strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices in logistics. Ability to perform lifting up to 50 pounds. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. A dedication to safety and operational excellence is paramount.
