We are seeking an energetic and reliable Material Handler to join our busy warehouse team in Boston, Massachusetts. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of our logistics network, ensuring that materials are moved efficiently and safely throughout the facility. You will be responsible for operating a variety of material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery, to transport goods to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks. Your daily tasks will involve receiving, stocking, and distributing materials, as well as assisting with inventory management and cycle counts. Maintaining a safe work environment is paramount; you will be required to follow all safety guidelines, understand and practice safe material handling techniques, and consistently wear the designated PPE. This position requires significant physical exertion, including frequent Lifting of heavy items, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated warehouse locations.
- Stock materials in appropriate storage areas, ensuring proper rotation.
- Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Support shipping and receiving activities as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational targets.
Qualifications:
Must be able to perform strenuous physical activity, including frequent Lifting of objects up to 75 pounds. Prior experience operating powered industrial trucks (forklifts) is strongly preferred. A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all regulations is mandatory. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics is a plus. Must be able to work flexible hours and shifts as required. Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential.
