We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk for our facility in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and processing shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our outbound logistics operations. Your duties will include verifying order details, selecting appropriate packaging, labeling shipments correctly, and coordinating with carriers for pickup. A keen eye for detail is crucial to prevent errors and ensure customer satisfaction. You will also maintain records of shipments and assist with inventory management tasks. Safety is our top priority; therefore, all team members must strictly follow all safety regulations and consistently use the required PPE . This role involves some manual tasks, including lifting of boxes up to 40 lbs. We are looking for a motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities:
- Verify accuracy of outgoing orders, including item numbers and quantities.
- Select appropriate packaging materials to ensure product protection during transit.
- Print and affix shipping labels accurately to all packages.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Track shipments and communicate any delays or issues.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock organization.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Properly use all required PPE .
- Perform tasks involving lifting and moving packages as needed.
- Contribute to the smooth flow of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative/warehouse role.
- Proficiency in using computers and shipping software.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines and wearing appropriate PPE .
- Understanding of shipping procedures and logistics is beneficial.
