Join our energetic team as a Picker/Packer in our bustling distribution center located in Columbus, Ohio! This role is vital to our logistics operations, focusing on the accurate and efficient preparation of customer orders for shipment. You'll be responsible for retrieving specified items from our warehouse shelves, ensuring they are free from damage, and packaging them securely for transit. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service, and your attention to detail will be key in fulfilling this commitment. This position involves a good amount of physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting, so a good level of fitness is beneficial. Working safely and efficiently is paramount, and you will be provided with all necessary training and protective equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately locate and retrieve products based on order lists.
- Inspect items for quality and ensure they meet shipping standards.
- Package items carefully using appropriate materials to prevent damage during shipping.
- Apply shipping labels and documentation correctly.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Operate hand trucks and pallet jacks as needed to move inventory.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and guidelines diligently.
- Meet individual and team performance goals for picking and packing.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation when required.
- Wear and maintain required PPE at all times.
- This position requires regular lifting and manual dexterity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, order picking, or packing role is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret order pick tickets and product labels.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds consistently.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles and warehouse safety.
- Reliable and committed to being on time for shifts.
